I heard a theory about how to make masters chalk more like kamui

"Shaws cue tip at the US Open this year was always White. I'm sure everyone knows what that is?.... is it? the 30 dollar cube ?"

no, he's using Taom chalk, from Finland. there's at least one other top American using it, and several of the top snooker pro's have also switched to it because it reduces kicks/skids to ZERO, which is a Really BFD. costs $15/cube.

i got some a month ago, and it is beyond miraculous; i have a ball polisher and keep my table vacuumed and still the skids were making me Crazy (i'm a 14.1 player mostly, so a single skid on a long run makes me psycho). after i got this stuff i didn't clean the balls or the table for THREE WEEKS and they were still pristine, and i had not a single skid in that period. i don't know where the stuff goes, or how it does this magic, but it is absolutely the best chalk i've ever used (i haven't tried Kamui, but i've used Master, Predator, Russian Magic, Blue Diamond, and several others).

due to the color (it's actually a very very pale green) it does leave more obvious marks on the table than traditional blue chalk. apparently some of the pro's using it say it is slightly more prone to miscues, although i haven't noticed that.
