I Hit My Next Level Last Night...

ok here's the scenario. Its the weekend of my 22nd b-day and I'm surprised that I'm still standing come Sunday pool league, let alone be able to shoot decent. But not only am I shooting decent, but my game is better than it had ever been. You may laugh at the sound of this but I actually found a brand new house cue on the rack, which felt really good to play.
A player buddy of mine, Chris, comes up and asks if he can practice with me. I say of course and he racks em up and then turns to talk on the phone. By the time he turns back around the game is over! I couldn't believe it really happened cus the shooting was so fast and precise... I was still looking for stripes to shoot in when it hit me.... I just made my very first break and run!! I was so giddy that I had to call Heirovision and tell him. My only worry now is that I've got a B/R bloodlust and I play even more aggressive than I used to. We'll see how this progresses... but seriously though... I can't wipe this smile off my face.

Once you get your first one they get easier! :) Congrats and keep playing. Just don't your drive for more B&R's get in the way of your enjoyment of the game.

i remember my first b & r, it was a low level comp and i was playing cause the original guy couldnt make it. it was the last game and i b/r this dude out of the blue. i just kept cool (friends were watching) and acted like i did it all the time. couple of hours later in the car home, i started smiling to myself... like some sicko. i called up a friend of mine (who was watching the game) and asked him "so... did you see me b & r just now?? pretty good huh??" for weeks after i was known as the break and run boy.. couldnt keep it up though...

now i find its easier to just let it happen. what you say is true, it will turn you more agressive and it will pile pressure on yourself to keep doing. it might even spoil your game. just go with the flow and you'll find more b&r's then when you really try too hard..

cheers man and congrats
