I thought I had this game locked up after I got 5 balls following the break after getting my opponent into this position:

After I got those balls, I had the 4-ball right next to my hole for about 10 innings. He wouldn't let me capitalize on it, so I kept bunting at the cluster on the foot rail moving it towards my hole:

He cleared out the balls on my side of the table then sent me uptable frozen to and jacked up over a ball with no good safe on the foot rail cluster available. I couldn't protect the 4-ball from there and it all went downhill fast. I tried to get the rest of the balls uptable but he got 2 in the process. Finally I got the rest uptable and left him this:

From there with the table's 4-4.25" pockets he runs 3 balls and leaves me with this:

I get out of that position without giving up any more balls. I do fail to get a rail once and lose a ball for it. After a couple of innings, I leave him this and am feeling pretty good about it:

He hits a bank on the 3-ball very nicely and leaves me this:

I think about it for a while and decide its better to try the long rail bunt kick safety than kick it in for him and put him on the hill with me needing 3 balls. The percentages say I scratch, and I do. He runs out. Still, it was nice to see him play that level of game though. I feel I only made two mistakes, letting him see the 4-ball and scratching on that long kick. Still it was a hell of a game. Wish I had it on tape.
Those of you who don't play one pocket are missing out on a lot of fun and drama IMHO.
