I need help with a Meucci Original

Cue makers of old used glues that held the parts together well.
As Gov sticks sticks their nose in our businesses, problems arise. Some mfg's are quick to find alternatives, others don't. I'm not saying Meucci didn't test different glues, I'm saying in general.
Glues of old didn't shrink as much as what Gov forces us to use. This shrinking issue doesn't show up sometimes for years. I've noticed this shrinking is projects where I use epoxies.
Wondered why asphalt roads fall apart faster these days? Yup Gov sticking their controlling nose in it. Oil based products are replaced with water base & it shrinks a lot more. That opens more cracks for water intrusion.

WTF????? Gonna blame the gov't on a cue's suck-ass quality issues? Quite a stretch.

No you stating that is a stretch.
You ever think before posting?
WTF??? Your post's premise sure reads like the gov't mandates are to blame for bad glue. Other cuemakers don't seem to have the same issues so why does Meucci?? It ain't no gov't-mandated glue. Shoddy workmanshop pure and simple.

WTF??? Your post's premise is that the gov't is to blame for bad glue, right? Other cuemakers don't seem to have the same issues as Meucci so its not a stretch to say that Meucci either doesn't know(i think they do) or doesn't care(possibly) how to make a quality cue that will last more than five years. There are enough 'bad Meucci' stories to write a book. A real thick one at that.

maybe it's the mississippi state gov't though

Hummm...
Last post to you before you're blocked.
Read & comprehend my post. You're adding info I didn't say.
And take your WTF??? UP YOURS.

Yeah the latest sticks from them are nothing like the older ones but Bob just sold Meucci Cues in October so maybe the new owners will improve things. I have my doubts but we shall see. Thy could get get worse.I know one thing, pricing on repairs has gone up from $46 for a re-wrap without urethane to $60. I just got a call from Cheryl at Meucci today because I sent them one of my Gambler 2's for a new linen wrap and she called to make sure the new price was OK. I said No it was not OK but do it anyway because I already sent them the damn cue! What a butt chafe.

Most who don't like the newer Meucci's are griping about the fit and finish. That means very little to me. What matters is how they play and few shafts are better than the old red dots and no dot shafts. I love em!

Seems strange to me the admiration of the early cues and not the latest 2022 cues.

Is it nostalgia or what?

I totally get that this particular cue could be special, but beyond that???

My 3rd cue was a Muecci. Still have it and handed Bob my money in 1975?? Burlington, IA

Just curious.

Why
It's partly because the newer cues they put out do not play well and partly because the older sticks are collectable and a lot of guys (including me) have collected them over the years and are still collecting them. It's like some older guns and older guitars. They bring more because they are well made and they are more rare. That's why most of the older Meucci's like the Originals are increasing in value.

These were made with each card in 4 suits, and the set of royals in each suit, and with 4 jokers.
