Hi Jenn, I was hoping I could your thoughts on an issue that has been plaguing my mind for far too long now. I am looking for a shaft upgrade, and originally I planned on getting a Predator 314-2. However, recent discussions have led me to ponder this decision, and the more people talk about the OB-1 shaft, the more unsure I get!

So, as a pro, I am sure you have tried several different shafts. So, I am going to make this simple: What is your shaft of choice? Predator? OB-1? Universal SmartShaft? Can you comment on any of these (in an unbiased manner)? I'll ask the sponsors to turn their heads, so feel free to gimme the dirt! :) I would appreciate any knowledge you can pass down.

I wouldn't stress about it too much. I will say that the only cues that I've used in the last 9 years (and there have only been 2) have always had a Predator shaft. I currently use the Predator P2, and I love it, but I don't believe the cue makes the player. I think that whichever shaft you decide on you just have to become comfortable with it. Switching too often is not a good thing.

Jenn like many pros only used predator because it was the only shaft available at the time. Now there are a whole slew of pool shafts out there.

I think it is best for you to find people with these shafts and figure out what plays good for you.

What shaft do you currently play with?
