I really want to buy the olhausen champion pro table, it's teh only one I would seriously purchase. There is only one authorized dealer in my city, and they know this. Anybody have any advice on how to haggle over the price??? I am terrible at it, and I really don't want to get ripped off. BTW, how low do you think I could get a dealer to go on this table?

i sell olhausen's, i need a little more info, what is the price, what upgrades do you want, table size, with or without simonis, what part of the country are you, cash or charge.... let me know and i can give you an idea of what to pay. if they haggle!!!. some dealers will not haggle over price, some do. let me know john

about a year and a half ago i wheeled and dealed with the Olhausen dealer in Indy, and the best deal he gave me was $4,000 for the Champion Pro. this included Simonis 860, no accessories (i had everything i needed) and of course installation, delivery, setup, etc.

i went with the Gold Crown IV instead. partially because they didnt know who Oliver Ortmann was. i found that hard to fathom, kinda caused the warning flag to go up.

good luck, the Oh Ch Pro is an outstanding table!

Figure out what you want to pay - total, out the door. Realize that the dealer has to make a profit. Do some research on the net. I found from attending a BCA Expo that most billiard related has a strong markup at MSRP. Once you decide what you are willing to give and know that you are still allowing the dealer a fair profit, go to your bank and get a cashiers check in that amount. Go to store and ask for the manager, hand him/her the check and state that you will give them this check for that table - and no more. Being very polite ask which they would rather have, the check or the table. I know this can work as I bought a truck this way. The main thing is that your offer has to be realistic. You can't expect the dealer to accept 50 or a 100 dollars profit on a 3 or 4 thousand dollar investment.

Most mark up is three times, I would find out what retail is and shoot for fifty off.

That's an understatement!!!!One well known manufacturer, that I won't name, has a markup that ranges from approximately 180% on their lower end tables to about 200% on their top of the line table.I would guess that Olhausen's markup is comparable.

This kind of markup is pretty standard in this type of industry which could loosely be called the furniture industry. 150%-250% is common.

I just ordered one a week ago it is 41/2 by 9 w/simonis 760, shimmed pockets
(4 1/2 inches). I'm getting 4 2 piece house cues, bridge, brush, cover, 2 racks, set of balls, wall rack & a lifetime gaurantee on leveling it & the rails.
I paid $4,137.00 out the door.
Hope this helps, Travis

There's a company I believe out of Tampa called Robertsons. They make excellent tables. You might check them out.
