Our local APA division hosted a Trick Shot Demo by Stefano Pelinga while he was in the states. I try to check him out whenever he comes to town and normally try to chat with him for a few minutes whenever I see him at a show or the expo. He is an extremely nice guy and always takes time out to talk to people and even get pictures with them. Well during the demo they had a segment where you can buy a 5 dollar raffle ticket for a chance to play Stefano in the game of your choice. So I was one of the names that was called and told him to rack up 9 ball.

He let me break, I snapped the wing ball (7) in on the break and almost made the 9. They must have recoved the table for his demo because it played noticably different the the other tables at the pool hall. I didnt have a good shot on the 1 so I played a saftey which I over shot and gave him an easy hit on the 1, but a hard shot, so he played a saftey right back at me which was obviously better then mine.

I took a 1 rail kick at the 1 ball and it worked out and left him safe. He took a kick at the 1 ball to kick the 1 into the 9 and missed it. I then attempted a 1 9 combo and missed it and left him an easy 1 -9 combo and he made it, but SCRATCHED!!!!. I spotted the 9 ball and then ran out the remaining 8 ball for the victory.

Me vs Stefano: Click Here Video is 33mbs and great quality. Sorry Dial up users.

He is standing in the way for a few shots unfortunately, but you can see most of the shots. Felt like a million bucks. Before I played him I asked him to play me the way he would play someone in an actual game, as he was going 5 rails with shots against other people. I assume he obliged me since he played the easy 1 - 9 combo but scratched.

Haha, thats a good video, looks like you were having fun.

Wheres your manors, beating him in front of all those people while hes trying to do a demo! Trying to ruin his credibility? :p

Also i bet you were nervous shooting that 9ball! Haha good job man, love that you got a video of it, now you can be like "oh really you dont believe i beat him?" :)

Check out www.stefanopelinga.com

He is a world champion trick shot artist.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I was actually more nervous on the 6 ball (ball before the 9) because I didnt want to hit the damn thing but I did and had to work it out.

The APA webmaster for our area's website recorded the video and since I am friends with him, he hooked me up with an unedited version of my match with Stefano.

Just seems bad that you guys have to play with those conditions, is that a barbox? Or an 8 footer? I personally wouldnt play somewhere regularly unless they had some gold crowns, or some olhausens, 9ft only

Its a Barbox. This pool hall is all barbox because it is the same place the APA playoffs for our area are held. Almost all the apa divisions in this area are barbox leagues.

Im looking to get on a tap league once this other poolhall opens back up, that would be on 9 footers.

Excellent! And video proof to boot!

...but what was the deal with the move of the 6-ball (think it was 6?) right after the scratch? Stephano stops the CB from rolling into the side pocket, then casually tosses it onto the table, with a touch of spin and it bumps the 6? Then you spot the 9, then he picks up the CB again as if to position it for you to work on the 1....but the 6 stays where it got moved to. Then you pick up the CB, and move it to shoot down on the 1...then Stephano steps in front of the camera...then you guys were talking, but the sound (for me anyway) wasn't clear enough to hear the discussion?

Anyway, congratulations!

He was playing 8 ball with the last few people and got confused and thought it was loss of game. I told him the 9 gets spotted.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

You ran out the table and that is how you won. Thank you for mentioning the X Breaker but I think your skill and technique deserve the credit.:)

The break gave you the first shot, and a chance to stay at the table, but you still need to do the rest to win. I am happy to see you almost made the 9 off the break though!!!

Keep it up.

Nice Run

Hello Icon,
Nice Run and Thank You for providing the link/video:) . It looks like both you and he had lots of fun. Did you stick around for his Trick Shot Show? As you probably alread know, Stefano is a wonderful person. What you saw is what he is like everyday. It appears that he gave you his best game and you won. Would you happen to have any video's of him performing that days Trick Shot Show? Hopefully he'll return to your area for more show.

I got beat to the South paw comments :)

Once you got your stroke it looked good. Nervous?

BTW, which room is that?

Nice game ! Lots of fun ! Since I cut very good I have to ask . were you trying to cut the ball in the corner or carom the 8 in the side? or both?

Cool Video! That was gutsy on the carom of the 8 ball!! Tough to do especially firing the other ball in the side like that.

I was a little surprised you didn't go for a 1/2 ass attempt to carom the 9 on the 1st shot of the game! LOL.. I might've tried it if I thought I could control the whole program enough to still leave the one pretty safe.
