I scrimped, and saved, and finally....the Balabushka!

Well, I worked hard and saved my money - waiting for the perfect opportunity to buy a real Balabushka.

Last night a guy came into my poolroom and low and behold - he had one! It was also signed by George on the forearm. This guy needed cash quick and was only asking $2000.00. How could I say no? So - now I'm the proud owner of a George Balabushka cue.

Your AZ Buddy,
Matt

P.S. There is your laugh for the day.

Congratulations on your find. With his signature on it you know you got the real Mc Coy. Once someone tried to trick me into buying one that had been certified to be real from some cuemaker in New York (Tasc something or another) but I passed because of the lack of a signature. I could have gotten it for a grand, too. Sure glad I didn't fall for that one.

Wow

Great deal on that Helmstetter. George never put any trade mark on his cues. I have been told about signatures and dates in the handlewood under the wrap but I think that is a urban legand.
I can only hope for your sake this is a put on for turkey day.
Nick :)

It is real.

A real Helmstetter. Balabushka series.
From your picture that is what I see.

Matt, you almost got on that one. I see that all the time, people think they "know someone who has a Balabushka"..."how do you know it's real" "because it's signed" The funny thing is the disappointment on their faces when you break the news

My girlfriend and her daughter are on a quest to find one in a thrift store or antique mall. It has happened before, so just in case, I bought three Balabushka shafts from the only guy in Denver I know that has a real one. You never know. I traded a fancy By Ray Schuler cue for the three Herman Rambow cues in my avatar.

Thank you MaTT

Matt,

Thank you for buying my bushka the other day. I have been down on my luck lately and this will help me cover some of my traveling expenses for the next few weeks, while I am on the road picking up games here and there as I head home for the winter. Although I hate to sell it, my trusty pete will cover the bar tab.

Thank you for helping me out bro.

Did anyone read where I put "here is your laugh for the day"? Wow....I'm slow - but not that slow. Man, I should have saved this for April Fool's Day or something. Yikes....

McFly....Hello...McFly...

Still love my slow AZ brethren...LOL

Well - somebody got it. :)

Oh, and I bought some real expensive and rare swampland in FL this week. Paid 1.3 million for 4,000 acres. Can you believe that deal?

Matt, you overpaid unless you got the certificate too !! :)

Oh, I definitely got the certificate. Hey, you deal cues. I know these things go for like $13K or more. This one is mint..so I'll flip it to you for $5K -- and you'll still make a killing. Sound good bud?

I know..I know....I'm too generous.
