I think shooting pool has made me a better basketball player

Gambling on pool for years has made me a better gambler. In pool if your adrenaline gets away from you from emotions that really can have a very bad impact on your pool game. Being able to manage your emotions under pressure in pool translates well into gambling on other games.

I’ve had people tell me-“I can’t tell if your winning or losing when you play”. That’s the whole idea. Managing your emotions no matter the pressure-winning/losing/high pressure because of big stakes.

Also in biz negotiations-same thing. Cool head and level emotions and stable voice under the heat.

Pool is where I developed those skills. Which is one of many reasons I credit pool for my success in life and give back to pool.

Sports involving "muscle memory" and hand/eye coordination tend to help each other.
Pool helps me in Trapshooting ... mainly to look at the target harder and the hand/eye coordination aspects.
Trapshooting helps me with the pre-shot routine and mental aspects of pool. I am still looking for a sport that will help me deal with the "sharks" in pool, however 😁.

I suggest you look somewhere other than your trapshooting skills :) tempting as it may be at times.

I can definitely believe pool would help with something like trapshooting. So much of aiming is done by recognizing the right spot to aim instead of having sights or crosshairs that define the point of impact.
