This kid was down 6-1 against the most feared ten ball player on the planet. He never once gave up or even looked flustered. He came back to lose but only after comig back to get to the hill first. After the sorry displays of heart we've seen from proven champions like Rodney, Corey, shaw and Daz, they could all learn something from his game. Daz was never even out of his match and he was in give up stroke from game three. It was really exciting to see someone who truly never thought he was out of it.

Let's not forget about earl last night too. He really kept his head about him too and came back from an even larger defecit.

Sorry, but I think that's pretty harsh criticism against some of the players you named. I doubt that they lost because they had no heart.

I must agree with Roger and I did watch from the from row,Daz played strong,If not for a few good rolls for Busty he might have gotten there...nobody gets there when Busty gets the rolls!

I watched morra pound his cue over and over and whine when Jason miller beat him in the banks...just sayin

Questioning the heart of champion players from your computer desk is pretty silly imo. What is "heart" anyway? Things like lack of focus due to fatigue or even just plain luck are more likely to blame for a loss than something as arbitrary and undefinable as "heart".

Yep y'all are right Rodney and Corey gave it their all and never gave up. I guess I was just watching something different. Same with shaw, he fought until the bitter end.

If I paid $1000 entry (or someone put the money up more likely) I would give my 100% best effort.

Rodney, Daz and Corey are champions that looked like C players at best in the highest entry fee tournament of the year.

Jpowell is right, Johnny was grinding the whole match, after being down, against arguably the best player in the world. Instead of focusing on something you perceive as negative, focus on his actual meaning that he was impressed with Johnny's composure and heart.

I was REALLY impressed with Morras playing. Especially his first ten ball match.

I said it once....

I said it twice, and, I'll say it again- Johnny Morra is a Gangsta:thumbup:

Did you not watch the matches? I'm gonna guess you didnt
I agree with you. I've seen countless pros just hang there boots
up during a match. I always think its a ego thing, but a guy like Johnny Morra
never quits no matter what the score is. I've known John for years and he is
a true representative of what the sport is all about.
Players egos should never be larger than the table there playing on.

I agree.... the give up stroke was displayed often. It's hard to tell if Corey did it though....because he simply can't play anymore. It's a shame... he could'a been one of the greats.

That's emotion, not heart. You'll never see John disrespect any opponent he's
playing. He might show some emotion but never anything against his
opponent.

I agree, JM is a good player I saw his match in Japan last year he played great. But pool God put him at the hill and did not finish the job and abandon him at last game to side with SVB I like both, but would have liked JM to have won it

Heart, IMO in pool or any other sport, is no matter what the circumstances are,
you never give up.
The elite champions are the people that have all the tools physically and mentally.
There's a abundance of talented players that have all the physical tools and lack
brain power to carry them trough tough times.
If you have both, your one of the fortunate ones.

It's really very difficult to keep your composure when you're getting your face kicked in..... But if you wanna be a top player you (NEED) to learn this skill.

then he'd better step it up quick - cause i'm pretty sure he's already on the Mosconi roster.
