I want a Break Cue!!!

If

money is no object, get the X-Breaker. ($375-$425).
If it is somewhat of a problem, the Falcon Break/jump (about $150)
If you are on a tight budget, the J&J Break/jump (from Chisonline in For/Sale section for $60 - big bang for the buck). I have a J&J, and I like it (even bought extra shaft for it till I can afford an X-Breaker)

Alot of pros seem to be using Predator break cues, take that for what it's worth.

Also, seems like everyone who has a custom break cue always seems to sing its praises but I always take those opinions with a grain of salt. I've always felt pride of ownership skews objectivity when self evaluating custom cues.

Not sure which one...

Any recommendations...
I have a Bunjee J/B cue and for the money I think it's a good cue. I shopped around and bought mine on ebay for a good price and i'm happy with it. I've never had a chance to try an X-Breaker so I can't compare my Bunjee with it, but I did own a Predator BK break cue and I like my Bunjee better because I have the jump cue option if I need it where the Predator didn't have that.

You mean pride of ownership of custom cues is different from pride of ownership of production cues?

So a guy who has a $400 XBreaker is more objective than somebody with a $400 custom break cue.

I'm not sure I understand that logic.

I have a pete ohman gray ghost J/B that is an inch longer in the butt that i can let go for $250.00. only been test hit maybe 8 to 10 racks... pm me if interested.............................mike

Thank you guys...Money is not an issue.

I just don't want to buy x-breaker without trying it.

If $$$ is no issue, just buy it and try it out. If you don't like it, buy a different break cue. It's no issue, right!?@:p

I'd have to agree with the objectivity part personally. No offense intended but psychologically most people I have met who have spent the cash and the TIME involved in waiting for a custom cue to be completed for them have started singing it's praises before they even received it lol.

Of course that doesn't hold true for everone though.

I really, really like my Jerico Stinger. It really does split the pack great and is a pretty awesome jump cue as well. Jerry Powers is a brilliant guy to deal with too. The only problem that I've got with it is that it looks to good for a break cue! lol

I have an original sledgehammer for sale. bought a year ago and barely used. Asking $230.00 US plus shipping. Pics available

Pat Diveney makes a killer J/B cue. He uses a G-10 glass ferrule tip combo, holds chalk better than phonelic. I have 1 & I highly recomend one to anybody looking for a great J/B cue.

FWIW I like my Stinger. I know it's not custom, but it works very well for me. Goes for about $300-$315 from Seyberts supply.

I also have a J&J. Excellent value for the cue you get. But after switching to the Stinger, I find I have much better CB control.

If you search the forum, you will find many threads on break cues.

Here is the last one I remember: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=39802

There are many well respected cue makers on here, maybe you can look one of them up.

Good luck in your search.

Ditto, ditto, ditto!!

And the best part is that the jump cue part is about 6" longer than what other jump cues are currently, so doing the "regular grip" movement as opposed to the "dart hold" is a lot easier.

It's the only cue I've ever been able to succesfully jump with, and it's phenolic tip hits a ton on a break.
