Love the stats on the IPT website, especially the sortable stats.

That stat would be almost identical to the B&R% out of total wins.

The stat I would really like to see, is what percentage of total racks see a run-out on the first shot after the break. So [(break-and-runs) + (dry breaks where the non-breaker then runs out) + (8 on break)] / (total games).
That would tell us now often there's any back-and-forth in a rack, vs. how often the rack contains nothing but a runout.

I have this theory that unless your break is worldclass, you should always at least consider allowing your opponent to break, I believe thus far the stats support this.

Almost the same, but for us perfectionists its not. <grin>
A scenario (based this on a 8 - 4 score) could have the winner breaking 7 times with only 1 b & r so the IPT stat would be 12.5%. But the way I wanted it, it would be 14.29%.
The loser in this match could have 1 b & r's out of 5 breaks. IPT stat is 25% but my way would be 20%.

Hey I'm all for ANY stats, Pool has lacked proper stats for far too long. We're seeing an evolution of the game as we speak with the IPT stats, they're gonna confirm alot of suspicions and show us things we've never realized.
