I would like some action anytime through Saturday in Huntsville Alabama.

If you get to Bham you might also want to try Poppas down in Pelham. There were a few good players around that gambled good there. Its been a long time since I lived there. Might have to take a road trip this summer. Would be fun to see some old friends....... Doc

Last time I went to b'ham, I was able to get a game with David Rowell at bumpers but, poppas was dead other than some young guy named Brandon (???) but, he only played one set a quit.

Sorry to hear its dead now. David probably still lives in town. Last time I saw him he was making cues and had a barbox and a big table in his garage. Must have been in the early 90s........ Jimmy King was still alive then, Doc

From my understanding, he still has all the cue making equipment but, I don't believe he makes very many.

David makes a very fine cue but, his prices are considered by most to be a bit high for what they get.

IMO, David makes a great playing cue but, IMO like many others, his cues will never become very collectable, therefore, as far as I know, not many have him to build anything past sneaky-type cues.

Again, not knocking his cue building skills. I love the way they play. It's just how it goes. Sometimes people just don't make it as big as they should for a lot of reason and many of those reasons are out of their control and IMO, that's the case with Rowell.

He can play a little too...when he is in gear.

Hey Johnny, I'm not a killer either, just a guy that likes to play.

I should be in Birmingham in the next few weeks.

I'll give you a call before I come down sir.

OK , I have your # in my phone as well. I'm retired so basically anytime, Poppa's opens at 3

Jimmy King hasn'd been seen around lately, I've not even heard anything about him in a couple years. And I am one that surely would have!
David is always around, playing well.

I've not seen king in years and years. I played him a couple times, he was really tough to out move and talking about playing for hours on end....I would drop like a rock from exhaustion after 5 or 6 hours.....thats aboit when he would just be getting warmed up....

Having certain type careers makes it all but impossible to devote enough time to matter in pool.

Then I retire....lol.....now I got all the time in the world but just can't get there with anyone that can actually play the game the way it's supposed to be played.

All ^^^^^^ don't stop me from doing two things:

Having fun
&
em...paying off.

The last one isn't my favorite.
