ID This Weight Bolt

I just got a deal on a cheap import cue (bar cue) and I'm trying to change the weight but I can't ID this weight bolt.

I'll saw it off if I can't find a new one but I'd like to try to change it.

What I can tell you is it looks to me like just a 3/8-16 thread which is common enough taps,dies,and even potential replacements will be easily found.

Even having a machinist make a replacement wouldn't be hard. Tommy D.

You need to take more pictures with a ruler up against the thread - so we can get a thread count per inch.
Since it is an import cue, it might also be a metric thread - got a metric ruler?
A measurement of the major diameter would also be helpful.

you are right it is a cheap import.why dont you call the factory first before you cut it up.

Measure the thread outer diameter.If you have a inches micrometer,take that number and X 25.4 will give mm eg .393 x25.4 = 9.98 mm.With some production threads,they can easily be .010 inches or 0.254 mm under size. Metric threads will have a metric pitch like 1.75 mm or an inches thread will be in Threads per Inch like 14 tpi.

You mentioned sawing it off, which indicates you wish to reduce the weight. Why not weigh it on a postal scale to get roughly the weight per inch, then precisely saw off what is needed to get to the desired weight?
Or, take the bolt to the local hardware store and let them match it up for you. More than likely it will be a common thread either std or metric. BUy a few assorted shorter lengths and if the head is too big talk to a local machinist or cuemaker and ask him to turn it down some? Just bring donuts and coffee!

Go to a Home Depot or Lowes. They have devices to measure the thread size. Metric or conventional US thread
