I was given a brand new small Makita router, and would like to use it in conjunction with the cross slide on my Midsize.
Could some of you guys post some pictures of your router setups so maybe it will spark some inspiration, and I can get it set up?
Thanks!!!:D

Router Mount

Pictures or model number of your router would be helpful for ideas of how the router would need to be held.

Chris Hightower could probably fix you up.

I do not build a mount for that router. I exclusively use the Porter Cable Laminate trimmers.

I recently had the bearings go out in My porter, and couldn't find a new one locally. What I ended up getting was the dewalt next to it in the picture here- http://forums.azbilliards.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=54664&d=1196280403 It uses the same parts as the porter, and so will mount the same way, and work with Chris's mount. Someone here was kind enough to send me some new bearings, and so I replaced the bad ones in the porter, and have 2 working routers to use on My deluxe now.

Anyway, I saw the Makita for sale in stores, but stayed away from them because of the difficulty to mount them on My current setup. The mounts would have to clamp around the base much like that base on it in your picture. I have seen mounts simular to that on some cnc setups, so posible you could look for something on those type sites that may could be modified to work, but By the time you spend the money on the mounts and the time modifying them, you could have probably just bought a porter or dewalt to work with the original CS mount. ofcoarse You could always try a machine shop, and see if they could fabricate a set, but again if price is a concern........ Still some people use mounts simular to what you would need, so there's always a way. Sorry I couldn't help, but i haven't tried to fabricate those tpye of mounts yet. Good Luck with It:)

My Porper lathe came with a mount for a similar router. It was round, and the router slid into if from the top.
