Phoneix its a big enough city and logistically it works for me,

Ca has too much red tape,

Vegas is a bar box town(the other rooms have the players market covered) and i think they changed the law about poker machines.

The logistics work out well for me too. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I know it is just a thought - but keep me in mind.

Somewhere near the east coast would be nice. You've got some great ideas and it does sound like you might make accidental profits when the players start pouring in.

And we have a lot of players in the south east. Oh! You could make it a stop for the FL pro tour too.
 
Phoenix is perfect. I would seriously move there after I get my degree if you choose that location. I might even move before I get my degree and get the degree from ASU :D

What you describe is paradise in my mind.

What you described here would attract thousands of pool players if you pulled it off. Many of these people said they would move down there if it happened, I would! If people are willing to move down there just for your pool hall then you have something really special. Are you really serious about this? I would LOVE to see it happen and wish you all the luck in the world starting it.

Good food is a must, but you prob. should have a seperate place for it so it does not get on the felt. For example, when my friends come over, then usually bring some kind of greesy food, usually pizza or chips. After taking a bit, greese gets all over their hands, and when they bend down to take a shot, it goes all over the table. Some spots will never come out of the felt. I know this sounds crazy, but you should make them wash their hands or wipe them off or somthing before playing on your tables. If that happened, you would have the cleanest pool hall in the world. IMO

Yes, you might be onto something. There is a bar/casino/pool room in little old Montana that has 12-15 bar tables. They run several large tournaments every year with $5,000 added --- they pull players from Canada, WA, MT, ID, etc - Tyler Edey, Edwin Mondel, Max Eberle etc - to play - last one had 130+ players (mens side) in the middle of the winter. The owner told me the first thing his table mechanic does everyday is to see the tables are level and cleaned. He replaces with simonis several times a year. Tournaments run on the weekends. He runs leagues every night except Fri and Sat. This little old town has more league members per capita than any place in the US. He runs it like a business and takes care of his customers- clean equipment, decent food, even a small pro-shop (gets $40 for a moori tip replacement!). He seems to be doing well.

You might be surprised that you almost described Magoo's. Two big rooms. Gold Crown's, Diamonds, Bar boxes Diamonds, Antique Golf, Antique 3-cushion, all recovered regularly. One room mainly for action (old Billiard Palace). One room more upscale with entertainment (fri/sat), full bar, restaurant (Magoo's original room). All tournaments have $$$$ added.
The only thing missing is the high tech stuff.

Sounds like a franchise possibility too.

I'm working on my version here in PA, Keystone Billiards.
Bar, restaurant, small pro/ repair room and bar boxes on the
first floor. Private club, big tables, humidor, and bar upstairs.

Lessons and a day camp for kids during the summer.
