If you had $500-$600

Go to sneaky petes with 3 sets of inlays.

matter of fact you may just go over to his shop, it's in Georgia.

I second this. I got my SP Josey in about 2-3 months ago. Fantastic hitting cue. It has a stiff hit (which I prefer) and very, very solid. I highly recommend Keith Josey due to his excellent customer service and even better cues. I believe his SP are about $350 depending on the wood you want.

Also, slightly behind a Josey, I'd recommend a Bob Frey SP. Under $400 and a fantastic hit, not quite as stiff but very, very solid.

Appropriate that this was one of the first responses!

I'll second this notion - just got my Josey SP in last week and I'm in love. Make sure you like a stiff hit though, if you're going this route.

Good luck!

I just got one too after wanting one for years... Got it used, love it except this one came with a real (baby) lizard wrap on it... my hands sweat pretty badly and this lizard is pretty slick, so it's tough getting used to the feel of the wrap when I shoot... (usually use leather). But the wrap cost so much $$$ I can't see taking it off... if I don't get used to it soon, I may have too though. That or sell it to a lizard/josey fan and buy a new one with leather.

If I did have another 500-600 I'd buy a second one.

I do like the look of Josey Cues

What are the hits like compared to a McDermott?

I don't know that I could compare the 2 of them, I have played with a McD... I don't think I could compare them though. One is a hand made custom, the other a production cue. Josey's do have thicker handles than McD's I could tell you that...

here's more.... About Josey
