If you Own more than One Cue, do you Rotate em

Personally I have a couple of Cues all with Two Shafts, and Try and remember to Rotate Em Weekly in my Case so they all get played with.

I also Rotate my Shaft, Each time I play, as that way everything gets used.

The only Cues I own are Playing Cues, as I do not have any Collectables, or high Dollar Safe Queens.

Anyone else do this Rotation thing?

I have two playing cues, but I don't rotate them. They play a bit differently, and I believe the whole purpose of owning your own cue is to add consistency so you just have to concentrate about your technique.

I will never understand why someone changes cues. Once you find something you like, stick with it.
I heard a story the other day about a pretty good player that had 7 or 8 cues..........used a different cue for different types of shots.....lol. NUTS!!!

You should stick with one cue.
You will be more consistent in the long run, and when it comes down to shots you might normally question a little, (how much stroke, how much spin, how hard do it hit it), there will come a point in time where it's not a question anymore but more like instinct. You just know.
By constantly switching cues, you are actually making it harder on yourself. (only exception would be if all your cues have the same type of hit)

I have three playing cues and they're all great. My main playing cue is a Mottey. However, I play with others from time to time because, well, what if someday I don't own that Mottey? I don't want to be stupidly telling myself that I'm not used to a softer hit from a Judd or something like that. I like being able to play with anything. I feel that it makes me stronger because if you take my Mottey away, I can still play with anything else.

As for rotating them, no. I don't. Especially the shafts. With each cue I own/owned, I only used one shaft so that the other remained pristine should I decide to sell or trade.

Well I think the Cuemakers will hate this post, because I see why there are so many Cue for sale on E-bay....

And I'll bet you have 3 cues that you use for different shots, like most players. Break...playing...jump.

Maybe the way to go would be to just change shafts between each shot for all kinds of different things. A draw shaft...a follow shaft...a stun shaft...a high spinner english shaft....a masse shaft....just come in with a golf bag.

Aren't you forgetting a predator shaft?
I mean, doesn't everybody have one?

No...I wasn't forgetting it. It was NOT to be included, unless you used it as your "snapping" shaft.

That's when you just lost a match and you were so pissed that you couldn't see straight so you had to "snap" something or you'd explode.

Let me rephrase for you. Personally, once I find something I like, I stick with it. If I play good with a particular cue, then I find no need to change. But then again, Im not a cue freak like many players I know

Hey, I resemble that remark!

As for me, I tend to rotate the cues. I know that it makes it harder to know exactly how much this or that is going to deflect on different shots, but I also think that, like someone else said, it helps you to be able to adapt to different cues quicker. For instance, I can generally play pretty well with any house cue that's reasonably straight with a decent tip. After half an hour or so shooting with it I don't have too much difficulty with spinning balls in off the rail or extreme spin shots. Then again who's to say that I wouldn't be more consistent with these shots if I were to use just one cue?!

i usually play with different cues, but at this point in time i have yet to enter any big time tournaments. when i pick up my bag at night to go to my table and play just whatever strikes me as the cue i want to use is the one i play/practice with for that night. my choices are:
Nova
Jacoby
Lucasi w/Predator Shaft
Cuetec

and possibly a Schon on the way. however, if i was to decide to play in a tournament, at this point in time i think i might go with the Nova. so, therefore, from then on out until the tournament i would no nothing but play/practice with the Nova.

Yes! I know to play my best game consistently I should pick 1 cue and use it only, but those other cues just sit there on the rack whining at me "Pick me, pick me!". I don't rotate them on any schedule or with any plan, I just switch cues when the spirit moves me.

I think it's imperative to have more than one cue, especially when recalcitrancy sets into Ol' Bessie. Bessie MUST be put on punishment to see first hand that she can not only be replaced but that she can NEVER get a wild hair up her butt and start acting out of line. Cues have a spirit, they know what's going on.....

I dunno, if I hadn't broken a shaft breaking, I'd still be breaking with my shooting-cue. I'm completely opposite. I like one cue and one cue only and only keep another for breaking. If I had 6 cues, there'd be 4 on eBay.

Did you break the shaft from bending it or did it shatter from the impact force?

i have several cues but i mainly use one. The only time i rotate sticks is if i find myself in a slump, for some reason if i switch cues then, it helps me figure out what im doing wrong, then ill go back to my main cue. I think its the "i got a new cue and man im playing good syndrome", the new cue gives you something to focus on, like a new perspective or sumthin

It completely shattered. It was a Predator shaft that looked like a banana peel afterward. Predator was great about it though. I called. They said that's NEVER supposed to happen and they replaced it immediately. Literally, I ordered a new one and sent back my shattered one at the same time. I got two shafts in the mail.
