I'm a newbie- Hi

This place is really busy. I'm not sure where to start. We bought an 8 foot table back in February 2012, paid a nice shop near by to move the table, repair a bumper, lay new felt down and install new braided pockets. We don't know what brand it is (the installer was certain he should've found something), we know it was about 20 years old back in the 70's when the old owner bought the house. So it's maybe around 60 years old MOL. Any who the installers were pleased to work on the table for us. My husband and I we've been playing in a local free tournament. He was really good when we started playing there, and now not so much. I was pretty much horrible for the last 2 years and, suddenly my game improved greatly I made to 3rd (out of 22 players) place a couple of weeks back. Still, I feel very wet behind the ears. At best I'm a little better than bad. We acquired a book on Pool and 8 ball and I've been reading it. Screwing up my game and later getting better at it. My interest was peaked by Equal Offense as a way to improve my game. But at this moment I don't even understand how to keep the score card. I've been trying to figure this out for 2 days and I still don't get it. I have 4 dogs and Daisy hates it when we play pool. This is where is parks herself and barks at us until we let her out of the house Thanks for checking on me! Loren
