I'm in the giving mood......

But as in life, nothing is free!!!!

I was in my basement playing some pool on my 7' pro-am diamond w/ my mom(she actually taught me how to play pool many, many years ago!).

Anyway, I asked my mom to try to take the cue ball and hit it so it hits every rail, but only once. Me knowing how to do the shot, kinda chuckled just before she was about to hit it and she said, "what? what am I doing wrong?" I responded that she was doing just fine and that there's no gimmic or trickery, that no matter how hard she hits it, in order to hit every rail once, if she does it, that it will not go to a 7th rail because of physics. She nodded and then hit the cue ball. I dropped my jaw as she did it on her first try! I said "uh, do it again. That had to be a fluke, it is impossible to do it that way." So she done it again!

After that, i got out the camcorder because I tried it over 50 times and couldn't do it the way she did it! Needless to say, she couldn't do it again and I never got it on film!

So what I'm wanting is for someone to video themselves taking the cue ball and hit it and have the cue ball strike every rail once and only once. To my knowledge, there are only 2 ways to do it and I wanna see someone do it both ways on video.

The first person to do this, and post the video of them doing it, I will send them a black vinyl 2x4 porper case(or a 2x2 case if you would rather have that!)
I know, its not $100, but it is free so don't complain!!!

This is one way for me to get rid of a case that I don't use and for me to learn how to do something that I couldn't believe I seen w/ my own eyes!

Good luck to all. Feel free to post a video of yourself doing it one way or another even if you can't do it both ways! Just FYI, if you want, you could google a 6 rail shot, but that is the way I know how to do it, the way my mom did it is the one I really wanna see!

In a few days if no one has posted a video of themselves doing it both ways, I will do a random pick of someone that posted on this thread.

The one that looks like 7 rails stopped about an inch off the 7th rail. I just recovered my table so I had to shoot it 2-3 times to get the speed slow enough. As mentioned in the PM i'll be more than happy to PayPal you the money for shipping if you'd like. Thanks again. I can think of a couple more ways the shot can be done. If nobody posts them tonight or tomorrow I'll get them on video and you can come up with another contest for the second case.

I think I may be a little confused here... you said that the cue ball must hit ever rail, but only once... yet you mention hitting 7 rails. The are 6 rails on a pool table... where's the 7th rail you're supposed to try and hit? Is it supposed to hit each rail only once, or one rail twice?

If you watch the second video I almost hit it too hard which would have given me a 7th rail and that was not the purpose of the shot. If you read my above post I was about an inch away from it when the cue ball came to rest after hitting the 6th rail.

The only 2 ways i have seen this shot done where you hit each rail one time first, will not allow the cue ball to travel to a 7th rail(one of the previous 6 that you hit) no matter how hard you hit it. Apparently I am wrong and you can hit all 6 different rails first and then go to a 7th rail(one previously hit) by going a different route.

Junkyard, no worries on the shipping, i believe it will be less than $10 so dont worry about it. Like i said, the case is something i just stored some old cues in instead of laying them on top of my diamond light so my son can't get to them and use the shafts as drum sticks!

Still looking to see the way my mom did the 6 railer and the one other way.....
