I'm writing a book. Would anyone care to review a chapter?

Good afternoon, everyone.

The following is posted with the express permission of Mr Jerry Forsyth.

I'm currently writing a semi-autobiographical book about my thirty-something years as a pool player, mingled with a few coaching hints, trickshots, and anecdotes meted out by the many colourful characters met along the way.

If one or two knowledgeable folks of the AZB forum could find the time to review the chapter offered below, any feedback and constructive criticism would be most welcome and appreciated. Naturally, I hope you all consider it a fine piece of work, but honest appraisals are very important to an author so rest assured any negative comments will be received with thanks and good grace.

A few brief points, if I may, before posting the chapter:

1) Please don't judge me too harshly because of the diagrams, they have been drawn rather hastily in order to help readers follow the accompanying text and will be considerably improved upon in the final draft.

2) The blank box in the bottom corner of each recto page will feature thumb-flick photographs of certain trickshots in motion.

3) I am English so please forgive spelling differences and turns of phrase.

Many thanks.

Chapter twenty's place in the table of contents, to give an idea of its context within the book.
