Importing snooker cue from the UK (warping concerns?)

I have bought a few cues from Mike Wooldridge. My current pool cue is a two piece with 11.85 tip 20oz 30mm butt and 3 extensions.
Mike prefers to make one piece but for me even a 3/4 was a pain to transport so he converted it.
I'm not good enough to notice a difference between a 1 piece and a two piece.
Never had a problem with shipping as Mike sends them in triangular plastic tube.
Best playing cue I have ever played with and works really well on pool balls.

Put the cue on the rail. Butt up past the chamfer
Roll it with the tip on the table bed and observe.
Parris cues are over priced and over hyped. I know a lot of pro snooker players use them but there are other better cues.
www.handmadecues.com Mike Wooldridge makes perfect cues and you won't be waiting more than a few months rather than Parris who has a wait list of years.
You check straightness by looking down the cue from the butt end.

I've read across multiple places over the net and everybody has an opinion on his cues, some say the best, some say the worst and the customer service is terrible. I had access to get one so I jumped, if I don't like it, I sell it. I appreciate your opinion and haven't enough experience with snooker cues to tell a difference at this point, but for me I'm thinking this cue will be fine. I'll let people know after I play with it a bit.

I've read across multiple places....
I bought two Parris cues a 'Traditional and a Champion and both of them I couldn't get used to them and the way they played. Difficult to put it into words but both didn't 'feel' right.
My first MW cue before his 'Blackspin' ferrule took a couple of hours to get used to.
I sold that and bought a 11mm Blackspin when I moved to USA and now I play with an 11.85 proper pool cue, round butt etc and that took a few hours to get the feel of it.
Now I love playing with it now and I have better control on the spin it generates with consummate ease.

Some people are saying he's the worst? I've been trawling through reviews of Mike's cues for the past two years and I've never seen anyone post a poor review on any of them.

I'll be placing an order for a Jason Owen cue within the next few months. I ordered an English pool break cue from him last year, which I love, but I'm wanting to get another English pool cue, and will be using my Peradon as a backup.

Specs will be 56", 17oz and 8.75mm, with an ADR147 SS tip. Just trying to decide on the butt timber design right now.

I did some googling because I heard only good things and there's definitely a camp of people who either don't like his work, him, or some combination. You know how people are, especially if you're considered the top of something, they like to shit all over you. I'll see if I can find some of them, might have been some facebook or reddit posts, maybe even one of those snooker forums.

Yeah, here's one...

I take all of it with a grain of salt until I try it myself.

No, not Parris cues. I'm talking about Mike's ones.

Or maybe I thought you meant Mike when you were referring to John. My mistake lol. Yeah, I have seen a lot of hit or miss reviews concerning Parris cues.

Sorry to confuse you lol

Had a 7 hour snooker session with a buddy of mine and we both used my new cue. I think the cue plays great, however, we do not lol. The feel and balance of the cue is very nice. Here are my specs...
  • Tip size 9.5 mm
  • Length 57″
  • Weight 18.4oz
  • Butt diameter 30 mm
  • Balance point 17″
The snooker table we are playing on could use some work. The pockets like to spit balls out when you hit them in with any kind of speed, so that was frustrating. Could probably use some new cloth as well. I am not in this photo.
