I haven't been scammed yet because of this forum.Yeah... IMO it's strange. I always say I am not a cue maker before offering any advice. I don't make cues but I have done some stuff with them as well as have a bit of knowledge on various things asked. I can answer simple stuff like tips, cleaning and such.
Seeing the plethora of scams going on, there's no way I'm posting my real name here, nor my phone number unless it's in a pm with someone I've seen around the forum quite a bit.
@azhousepro Why real names? It's not the norm. I've been on probably 40 different forums, but I've never seen any forum obsessed with real names. Why are we allowed to sign up with screen names if it's not acceptable?
New to this forum and it’s quite alright if my comment is ignored. I would strongly advise against using real identifying info on a publicly visible forum for multiple reasons besides the normal scams everyone knows. If mods need to ban someone for spreading false info about a known business, so be it. Another option would be mods verifying someone’s identity privately and giving them a tag for verified account. Just my thoughts on a topic I have experience with. It is not my place to tell admin what to do, though. Just had to point that out for my own piece of mind
I know this might be hard to believeFYI only
At least you know my first name and state location.I know this might be hard to believe
BUT
Not everyone knows your full name and that your a Cue maker
So
Is your name sign in on the forum going to change from just
Joeyincali?
You know I had to ask....lol
3 TimesAt least you know my first name and state location. And I post pictures of my mop handles.
Fixed.
LOLI said it before
I'll say it again.
Based on some of the replies to questions.
I undestand the need for fake names.
But also based on some replies.
I understand why some people using thier real names, should use a fake name.
What a dilemma!!!!

What are the reasons if you don't mind?I would strongly advise against using real identifying info on a publicly visible forum for multiple reasons besides the normal scams everyone knows.
I knew someone would ask. Without being specific enough to teach people anything, the 2 most prevalent reasons would be if I have a problem with you specifically and I’m unhinged enough, all I need for basic problems is your name and phone number. I can then call and text with your number showing as where it’s coming from. If I want to have a back and forth with someone there’s another way to make that happen for me to receive back from them so they don’t contact you after the first thing I send. Now you get to spend however long it takes convincing your female coworker I just propositioned ;including a sweet pic with it. That it wasn’t you. Your wife will probably want an explanation and perhaps the police depending how nasty I got with my texts. This is best case scenario because I only sent it to an adult and not one of your 12 year old daughter’s friends, because there is an extremely high likelihood I already have enough info to turn it into that info. Still better than the one anecdotal incident I’ll share. Kids are stupid. The background check they do online consists of do u know that name, or do they have any of the same friends I do. If either answer is yes they’re good to accept this person. Pedophile started w name and number of a young adult. I’m going to skip a few simple free steps to pedophile is now a 2nd account belonging to a 4th grade girl with access to her friends. Guy was not even a good talker and still got 4 girls in that class to send pictures and even a couple videos. None of them had a reason why their female friend would ask for that. Still sent it. If you think what was sent may not have been quite as bad as possible due to their young age, you could not be more wrong. Arguable that most people over 50 on here would not believe it if I described it unless they have a job that causes them to see kids phones or social media. But I digress. It still can get worse if the pedophile decides he’ll make it look like he’s you. That’s the simplest, and it is more simple than I’ve explained it because what I’ve left out does make it easier. You would be able to prove it was not you if the police get involved, probably a couple days assuming it’s not a holiday and it’s a big enough department to have a dedicated division (big depts are busy) or a small department and you get lucky with a young enough officer to know what to do. Until then you get to do explain to your wife, job, whoever, that probably doesn’t know I can clone your number that this was not you but you sold a cue online on a public forum……good luck with thatWhat are the reasons if you don't mind?
I frankly can't think of any unless you want to be a lying ass rude prick online.
