8-Ball Saturday Night Georgetown Billiards League

• 2 Player teams based on Georgetown Billiards Handicap Rankings (mostly based on APA rank)
• No team can exceed 11 handicap level, if team exceeds 11 by 2 or more skill levels you’ll be disqualified---Must start at 11 or less handicap
If 10 or less you do not get extra handicapped matches, have to race to 5 like every league member
Georgetown Billiards has final say on skill levels---those levels will be evaluated every 3 weeks of the session
• $10.00 per player, or $20.00 for team a night
• GUARANTEED $3000 PAYOUT!! Based on 15 or more teams
1st place team-$1500
2nd place team-$1000
3rd place team-$500
Money paid out will be determined by the number of teams that finish the session (If we start with 15 teams and end with 12 teams then the payout will be based on league fees for those 12 teams that have been paid all session and added to pot)
• Played in race to 5 format (8-Ball) HIGH HANDICAP HAS TO FACE HIGH HANDICAP, LOW HANDICAP FACES LOW HANDICAP
• Timeouts are not allowed or used for this league, THEY DON’T EXIST
• Simple 10 point system, If team wins all 10 games that would equal the max of 10 points. HAVE TO REPORT RECORDS FOR LEAGUE PLAY TO MANAGEMENT
• In case of team totals ending in tied amount, a playoff match will determine winner
• Duration of 14 weeks, payouts right before the Holidays
Start on September 18th, through December 18th
• $15.00 player registration fee if paid by September 11th, $25.00 registration fee if by the 18th or later than the 11th, for teams wanting to play after 18th/late registrations you would get 0 points for each week missed
• If member of team does not show up, it will count as a forfeit and you will score 0 points for that player, AND HAVE TO PAY TEAM MEMBERS DUE ( $10.00)
IF BOTH MEMBERS don’t show up team will get 0 points and BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL MONIES DUE TO IN-HOUSE LEAGUE ($20.00) for that week and does not get to play scheduled weeks until money is accounted for
-NO SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS ALLOWED
You start and end the session with same team member!
• If more than 12 teams register, days will be split between Saturday Night play and Wednesday Night play, Georgetown Billiards will make the schedule

If you are using APA rankings, 11 is a VERY low number for a team. Basically you are limiting the team to ONE good player and then total beginners. A good B level player can be a 9 in APA 8 ball if he's playing his/her game. You'll have a hard time getting 2 C players with an 11 point limit.

What the USAPL league does is that it just handicaps the final score a bit for top heavy teams that exceed the limit, but the limit is pretty high. In my Masters league the 3 player limit is 300, with 345 being the highest you can have for 3 top ranked players, after that they have some points taken away from the final score.
