In Search of Linen Wrap

I have a older McDermott that is in need of a new wrap. I would like to do it myself But I do not want to buy a whole roll of linen just to do one stick. If anyone could direct me somewhere that I could buy enough for one stick. Or if any cuemakers on here would be willing to sell me enough to do it that would be awesome as well. As far as color I was thinking a black/red, or black/white, or maybe even a black/tan

Thanks

well. atlas or prather selll single cue linens for like 5$ however they have a minimum order. with atlas you can pay a small order fee of 10$. so you could get a single cue worth of linin for 15$ plus shipping. maybe 20$

my next question is have you even done a linen wrap before? its prob impossible to get it right without a lathe

To answer the question at hand No I have never done one myself, Yes I do have a lathe well 3 to be exact. $20 dollars isnt a waste to me if I get the linen try it and it doesnt work then I will just have Mr Shick to if for me but its just something I wanted to try to do. And Thanks for the info I will do a search for those companies and see if I cant get some.

an entire spool is like 40$. just bite the bullet and get it. trust me youll need the practice. linen it tough at first

Dont get me wrong I do Trust you when you say it is tough. I have just always been a person who likes to try to do things unless I know that I just could not do it. And now that you brought it to my attention your right about the linen I might as well just buy a spool. Thanks again guys

just a side note. i did a cue last month that i ended up doint 3 wraps on.

1st time there was a single loose string in the middle of the wrap so i took it off.

2nd time the string was cut half way thru the spool about 1 ince from top of handle.

3rd time was a charm

linen can be a pain

i use genuine irish linen from atlas. www.cuestik.com

the white with light green is as close to old cortland as i have found (that wasnt old cortland)

You can get from Prathers as they don't have a minimum order.
