Incredible Price for Black Boar Shaft!

We agreed on the first thread that it was shill bidding. I was going to report it to Ebay , but got to busy waxin' me shaft.

To answer one question regarding Black Boar shafts... I think some of the early shafts did not have the wood on the outside of the brass insert... Take a look at this cue (similar to my BB and notice the shaft inserts....)

These are different yet, with beveled inserts:

Why would anyone think a replacement shaft to a custom cue with a detailed collar should be cheap?

If I wanted another shaft for my cue, I would expect to be charged about $500+. And no, I didn't stutter.

My shafts have ivory ferrules. I would want ivory. Ivory is becoming a limited substance to cuemakers nowadays. I would also want the stitching to match, too. Even though it's *just* colored maple veneers in the collars, IT STILL TAKES TIME to fit the inlays and cut them down.

And lastly, I'm taking a piece of wood that has been maturing in this cuemaker's shop for about 7 years that he had to buy, inspect, throw out a bunch of bad on his dime, and hope he's sitting on good stuff when it gets turned, and is still continuing in this method for the next year after year after year, which still costs $$$ to his immediate pocket, not mine, when I show up for that extra shaft.

Oh, I agree regarding the detailed ringwork, but this shaft just has the plain ol' silver ring... and is 14mm to boot!
