this guy fell off a boat in the atlantic. he was swimming night and day hoping that some helicopter or boat would find him. after 3 days, he made peace with god and wished that his wife and kids could talk to him one last time. he stopped swimming and let himself sink. he went far down into the dark depths of the atlantic ocean. he prepared to die. he saw a bright white light and knew he was approaching the pearly gates. and then out of no where, all of a sudden he had this urge, this urge to fight, this urge to live. he came up to the top and began swimming with a new found passion, he screamed at the top of his lungs "i want to live" in the distance he heard a sound of a big bellowing fog horn. he looked way,way out and believed he saw something. he swam towards it, a few hours later it was a ship! he kept screaming i want to live, and swimming closer and closer, there was a bearded man standing at the edge of the ship, who saw this man swimming and screaming swimming and screaming, the bearded man from the ship, threw the desperate swimmer a line, he grabbed it and with all his human effort, climbed aboard. he was saved!!!!!!! after coming aboard, and breathing very hard and spitting out seaweed, and spitting, and coughing and choking from the sea water, and all his physical efforts of trying to stay alive, the saved man finally caught his breath, looked around the boat that saved his life, and still out of breath managed to get out the words, "oh, from a distance i thought this was gonna be a nicer boat" ok, fellow az posters, does this sounds familiar???? here we were, in a state of pool being left for dead, where we all were saying is "if only one rich person could step up to the plate and save pool" well, that moment is here, and we turn around and say right into kevin truedue's face, " oh, from a distance, i thought you had a nicer boat" people, be happy we all were saved!!!!!

WHat a selfish sod! I think he was bloody lucky to be picked up in the first place, especially since there are much bigger fish in the sea that didn't get saved! :D

EDIT: Or should that have been shellfish cod? :)

No, it doesn't. Though it's tough not to admire your spirit and optimism, your are allegorically challenged. Pool is not dead, nor will it die if the IPT disappears.

If pro pool was a ship sailing at a disheartening rate and not always in a straight line, the IPT is no more than a much bigger ship that we hope will go faster and more accurately. Truth is, none of us have ever seen it sail a noteworthy distance yet.

There can be no denying that the IPT may transform our sport for the better. This is what we are all hoping for. But, unlike the swimmer in your poorly reasoned allegory, getting on board this ship called the IPT may or may not mean being saved.
