Indianaplis, IN July 16th and 17th 1500 added 10 ball Mid America 10 ball Tour

Wasn't too bad of a tournament for the first one. Mostly all the handicapps were pretty much right on the money and they had a turnout of about 40 players.

There was a little conversation amongst players about spending a lot in quarters and the owner admitted that an entry fee would suffice for the next tournament.

All in all it was a good tournament and I had a great time.

I believe a 5 ranked player won the last tourney. Seems FAIR!
You red quoted that post Joe so I guess you did not like it. So a five (whatever that is) should not even be considered a potential to win. I have been to quite a few handicapped tournaments and usually the better players outrun the spot, especially when all ranks are mixed throughout the entire tourney.

I played the Jose guy who was a five a few sets on three occasions playing sets to 7 I think he ran a rack two different times out of maybe 35-40 breaks, he does run balls here and there but he misses some as well. He is capable of putitng himself in the box for 3 or and sometimes 4 figures if he likes a game (always plays a local) but he likes to play. Maybe he should fold up his entry and his calcutta money and the two, three or four good players that he buys frequently in tourneys calcutta including the fact he stakes people sometime, it must be a gaff if he wins an event.

If this guy gets in action with a local AA or AAA champion where would the game have to be for the majority of the rail to bet on Jose, let me tell you if he tried to get down with the best players in Indy if he went to 5 and the other player went to 11 I think the rail still bets on the 11 especially playing 10 ball like this tournament. I would have to think he is a 5 and good 5 bbut still a 5 in Indy and congrats to him when he did win a tourney.

I myself play in handicapped tourneys and open tourneys both have advantages, I am glad to hear that this tourney went well 40+ is pretty good attendance for mid July in Indy. I am working in TX/Mex area and could not play. Congrats to Chris, Brian and John Waynes for a nice event.

i have mixed feelings about jose inparticular, i beat him it was 11-5 race i win 11-3 but he did break and run a rack on me and ran 9balls another, hard for me to say he is underranked but i dont think the lowest possible rank should ever break and run. I expressed my opinions on the quarters thing at the tournament i played 4 matches and spent $38 in quarters, i made it aware i would only return if they institute a fair greens fee and the tournament director and owner seemed to take interest in what i had to say, as my opinion as well as others and like 8 players withdrew themselves because of the quarters. I am glad they are trying though, this is a new tour they will learn and im sure progress into a great thing, in which i hope to be a part of be much nicer to drive 2 1/2 hours than the 10 hour drives to the carolinas and georgia.

Hopefully the tables won't be as horrible as John Waynes . In a earlier post about the tables. Let me tell u on a scale of 1-10 there tables were a 1. The game was not even fun to play, we had 6 good tables in the back that we wasted and had to play on the shitball tables instead. I am not picky but drive 6hrs total and pay $120-250 to play and have the tables not even close is not fun. The balls and tables have not been cleaned or leveled in YEARS.
