Indonesia calls for standards for billiard youth training centers

The voices calling out for more pool by players, governments, fans and organizers is overwhelming.

Jakarta, June 11 -- Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, sees untapped potential in billiard arenas, believing they can be transformed into training centers for cultivating top talents who can compete internationally.
"Currently, billiard arenas are primarily viewed as recreational spaces," he noted in a statement on Tuesday. "However, they hold immense potential to become centers for developing skilled billiard players."
He said that his ministry proposes a certification program for billiard arenas designated as training centers. This certification process would be conducted jointly by the ministry and the Indonesian Billiards Sports Association (PB POBSI).
"When billiard arenas are certified as training centers, they are not allowed to sell alcohol, play live music, or do similar activities," Ariotedjo explained.
He underscored the importance of certification in ensuring a nationwide distribution of billiards talent.
He also expressed his interest in developing billiard coaching programs to increase the number of Indonesian players competing in major multi-sport events like the SEA Games and Asian Games.
Ariotedjo urged POBSI to create strategic roadmaps for the development of domestic billiards sports.

Unlike youth, turtles are a protected species, violators of international fishing and wildlife treaties will be brought to justice.

Youth in Asia doesnt have the same protections as history of development as Euro or American nations.

If your not sure export more American pool culture to Indonesia. Everyone wants to travel, pool can be a way out.

If i didnt grownup watching American culture in film, I wouldnt be the third rate pool player sandbagging on high risk shots.

Producing films in Indonesia is a lot cheaper than in US or Euro, they also have a ton of talented artists and animators and video editors.
