Info on a "Hurricane" cue,please?

Just got this cue and would appreciate any info on it folks. Jim Whitey Spatch made them I'm told. Thank you all for any help. View attachment 801777View attachment 801778View attachment 801779View attachment 801780View attachment 801781
What's the length and weight?? Is that a 13mm shaft w/ 1" ferrule??
I bet it hits like a muecci w Bob made the SS jointed cues - Brass insert flat face. Or perhaps an older Heubler w SS joint.
No wonder locals are keeping them.

Nice cue, I lived in Charleston while stationed at JBC from 12 to 18. I had 5 or 6 hurricanes that I either bought, sold, or traded through. I don’t recognize that style bumper being on any hurricane I’ve ever seen. I think somebody might’ve put that on after.

I’m not sure if Whitey did it on every cue but around 2016 he started putting his name and the year it was made on the butt cap opposite side of the logo. I think Mike may have done this on the ones he made or finished up as well. I’m no expert but I’d say that cue was definitely made by whitey and before they started doing that.

I can attest that they’re harder to get a hold of nowadays. I had one that I brought with me on a trip to Charleston last September, had people reaching out over all over town trying to buy it. Ended up getting offered and accepted a lot more for it than I expected.

Here’s a few pics of the logos on the one I sold last September and one I still have that Mike made me right before I left Charleston in 2018.

Great info ty! I'm in Sanford Nc and have seen a few myself. Idk about the bumper either, the weight bolt is long gone. I added an '80s Adam weight bolt,a perfect fit! I'll go through my stuff and come up with a bumper. Around 2000 a buddy got a custom order Hurricane, I've been looking for 1 since then! Ty sir!
