Injuries Can Get In The Way Of Playing Pool......

Just had my 3rd shoulder surgery........same shoulder.....within a 4 years span.......kinda gets in the way of keeping your pool game sharp.......they say pool is an addiction......well, gotta confess if it is, then mine is probably chronic.

Stopped by the pool hall and ran into Tommy........he now owns Jay's cue and just had it refinished......a lot of sentiment is attached to that cue........I only played a dozen or so racks before there was a little bleeding.........nothing major........I think most of the stains will come off the cloth pretty easily........I may be pushing my pool rehab way too soon.......Not!.....I really wish I could resume playing pool again.

More seriously, pool isn't even on the drawing boards for the foreseeable future......I shot at only one pool ball......I just thought one of the pool photos might look cool.....maybe with a silly caption......Oh well, maybe it's time to buy another cue? This wait is going to drive me bonkers.

p.s. I pocketed the shot too....not that it was difficult but I was at a slight disadvantage.........like it hurt a whole lot!!!!!!!!

I dropped the cue afterwards.......I could feel the staples try to pull apart when I stroked the cue ball.....I knew this was not an activity I could condone.
Anyway, saw my surgeon today.....staples removed and pressure bandages substituted ....I should be ready to start physical therapy next week.
Gee, I got that to look forward to....sure hope Tommy Hill's new JMW cue arrives this week......it's truly a classic design....hope he posts photos.

Wishing you a complete and speedy recovery. As you know, I cold no play for quite sometime and an only getting back recently.

1. Do your rehab
2. Do not push it with the shoulder out of prescribed routine
3. Watch alot of Accu Stat and Big Truck videos, over and over
4. Quietly learn shooting jacked up left handed...you may be surprised.
5. Definitely, and most important, buy some expensive hi end custom cues. Photos and price list to follow:grin:

Get well soon!

Good luck on your recovery! You will be an excellent one-handed, lefty shooter by the time your rehab is over. ;)

I know what you mean.
Three weeks ago I developed some fluid on the left knee due to osteoarthritis, and I was off my feet for about six days. It cleared up with the help of a cortisone injection.
Man, oh man, if your arms don't work, or your wheels are gone, you're pretty much screwed.
Lucky for me I'm back to playing One Pocket and bouncing around the table like a youngster.
I hope your have a speedy recovery.
