What percentage of cue builders are still hand cutting inlays?
I don't mean trimming after the cnc to make sharper points.
I mean no machines for inlays.

The only American cuemaker that I know that does not have a pantograph or milling machine or CNC that takes chisles and cuts in his inlays is Triple Cross Cues. Mentioned above is Paul but I have not heard from him that he does not have any machinery for inlay work. The only well known cuemaker I know that does not use cue lathes or metal lathes, but still does hand turning of cues is Abe Rich. Walking into his shop in Miami is like walking back into histopry 40 years. There is enough wood to build thousands of cues and he won't sell one piece of wood even though he only builds a few cues a year. His business is forsale if someone wants a thriving repair business a couple of blocks from the beach. Last I heard he wanted $50,000 for all inventory and lease on the building.

A cuemaker in Sta Barbara California does inlays by hand. He calls his cues Driftwood. Has made a cue for Don Johnson even with bridge figures as inlays. Don Johnson is enamored by bridges supposedly.
Edwin Reyes, who is an American national living in the Philippines, still cuts his pockets by hand.
