Five minute epoxy works good, but like Joey said you ahve to be careful to keep it off the finish. Another product that works good and is not so sloppy if epoxy putty stick. You just kneed it and then apply it right to the wrap groove.
ok, so i just build it up with the putty and dry fit it to see if it looks flush. Then just coat over it with contact cement?
Yes that is correct. Bit you will have to sand it to rough the surface up. You might get lucky and to spread it out thin enough to press the leather down on top to press it right down to the correct height. But most likely you will put on too much and sand it down to the correct depth once dry.
