Installing a wrap on a Sugartree sneaky??

If it ain't broke don't fix it. I wouldn't alter that cue in a million years. If it is not perfect for what you are looking for don't buy it. If you put a linen wrap on the cue you will alter the way in which it was originally designed to play in terms of weight etc, although minimal it will change the balance. Also that is a beautiful piece of Bocote why on earth would you want to cover it up Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - It would be sacrilege! I have a lovely Tad with perfect balance and a plain linen wrap and I prefer leather wraps. I look at it sometimes and say to myself should I change or shouldn't I? then I have to slap myself in the face and say come off it you do that you will regret it. Wrapless or linen cues play excellent they just take a little getting used to if you are not familiar with them it is not going to add anything to your game apart from what is in your head :-D

Thank you, Sir, precisely what I have been looking for when creating this thread is peace of mind. I need you guys to say it to my face as I can't slab my face now as I have not received the cue, lol. I fully settle on it as a wrapless all the way now.

Don't do it-leave it wrapless!
Thank you, absolutely :).

That's awful nice looking wood to be covering it with a wrap. Personally, I wouldn't pay the premium for a Sugartree SP and then cover up beautiful wood with a wrap. I think you'd degrade the value.

If you plan on never selling the cue and strongly prefer a wrap for playability to your preference, have at it I guess. Otherwise, I wouldn't do it. Fact is, for me, I wouldn't do it either way as I love beautiful wood.

I agree with this 100%. Part of the allure of ST cues is that Eric manages to find some very special pieces of wood, and it would be a crying shame to cover that up. Not to mention, once you have a wrap groove cut into it...it's gonna change things...like weight, and possibly the balance point. I wouldn't do it....and yes, it will very very likely devalue the cue. Not to mention I wouldn't let anyone touch the cue besides Eric himself...that will absolutely devalue the cue.
