Installing pockets on antique Brunswick

Hi guys. I am installing a set of new antique 6 irons on a 1928 Brunswick Royal and had question. There are four leather strips from the pockets that need to attach to the table. Is it more appropriate to attach two to the slate backing and one to each rail or all four to the slate backing? My old pockets were mickey moused to get them to work and they are not a reliable starting point for "correctness". I have been trying to find pics but cant seem to. Thank you in advance.

The dilemma in attaching the pockets on antique tables is usually the the lack of overhang of the slate to the frame. There is no guideline but the goal is to get that pocket to open fully and hang as straight as possible. Two to the slate and one to each rail would be a correct way of attaching. Be sure when you attach the tab to the rail that your inside leather liner will cover
the tack.
