I have an older Instroke case 2x4 - it's been a great case but I just got a new break cue with a Rubberized grip - and the butt is a pain to get in and outta the case.

It anyone else having this problem? If so - did u find any solutions for this?

I had the same problem with an Instroke cowboy and Mezz power break with rubber grip. Unfortunately I couldn't find a solution. I ended up having it rewrapped in linen. Sorry I don't have a better solution.

Wax Paper... Cut a section large enough to cover the wrap area and use it when you put the cue in the case.... The rubber grip will grip the wax paper well enough to keep it from sticking in the case... Other option if that scares you is to take a silk tie if you can find a thin one and slot it so you can slide it over the butt... that way the end of the tie goes over the butt and you know it won't get stuck.....

When I had a sport grip bk2 I had the same problem. I ended up getting a thin cloth sleeve made that the butt would fit in and still fit into my case. I will try and find it and post some pictures.

Same thing with my VS2 and old Bentley case. I put a rubber cap on the joint and drop it in the case pin-first. Haven't had any problems since.

The Wax paper sounds like a great idea thxs! Will get it a try - and let you know.

Of all the pool "stuff" that comes out, the rubber grip seems to be one of the silliest imho.

I mean, they don't even put them on aluminum bats anymore... they use leather or some other synthetic leather material..... on a pool cue ?? I don't get that one at all...

RJ,
I didn't buy it for the grip. I borrowed Sarge's one day and it broke so well I had him get me one. If the rubber grip tears or comes off I'll have it replaced with linen or something else but it will remain my break cue.

Get a pair of pantyhose, cut one leg off and leave yourself enough to get a grip on and put the cue into that and the sock into the case.

We make such sleeves for our cases - $10 each.
