Hello all. So I'm thinking of buying an instroke "tooled" 3x5 case in the rust color. Does anyone own, or has owned an instroke case that can give me a little insight? I basically want to know if you like/dislike them and why. Really just want to know if they are worth the money. Thanks in advance!

I own a instroke 3x5 case. It is durable. It looks nice. The zippers are not cheap. It is made with leather. The cues are nice and snug. It has a pocket for a jump cue. The big pocket is large enough to hold a 5 prong claw. All in all I like the case.

I own a 2x4 and several 3x5's. My daily Instroke carry is a 3x5 and over 15 years old and I will have it another 15 I am sure. I do not care for the tooled versions, or black leather. All my cases are of the buffalo style. They are rugged, great protection, and take a beating. Not to mention the awesome patina they acquire over the years of use. Just clean them once in awhile with a leather cleaner/protectant, and it will last you a long long time. Hope you enjoy your new case!

Great cases !!.... excellent cue protection that I trust all my customs in.... I have three Instroke Cases...

Premiere 1x2
Cowboy 2x4
Geo 3x5

They are a decent case, but for just a little more you can get SO MUCH better. My number one complaint with Instroke is they are HEAVY by comparison to other better cases.

best,

Justin

I just bought the same exact case you're looking for. It's the Rust tooled 3x5. I received it 2 weeks ago. It's an awesome case and I've had a lot of compliments. It is a little pricey but there's tons of room and your cues are well protected. The case is heavier than my previous case but it's not a big deal since it typically just goes to my car and into the pool hall. I'm extremely happy with the purchase and I'm sure you will be if you decide to get it.

I have a 3x7, 4 2x4's, a 2x3, a 4 x 8 soft case, and even a black & tan 2x4 soft case they made for a couple of years.
All great cases except one of the old ones is kind of short and has a latch issue.

My review:

The Good-well made sturdy leather cowboy cases, easy to use on a daily basis, very popular with every type of player.

The Bad-a little on the heavy side, and I can only use the short one to store 57" cues>>

SHORT CASE ALERT:

The other day I looked at a nice older 3x5 two-tone Instroke, great deal, until I noticed it was another shorty

I have a 3x5 leather cowboy and I like it a lot. It is not cheaply made, I
think it will last a very long time. There are tons of rivets keeping it
together and it's genuine leather. If you are picky when it comes to
shoulder straps you might not like it, but I carry mine like a briefcase.

That's why I trust my "good" cues in them.... they are tanks :)

I have a 3x5. I like it because it stands up when I have my cues in it (while playing, switching from break to playing cue) and if it ever came up, it's big/heavy enough to kill a man.
