EDIT: Stan Shuffett's Pro ONe CTE video or CTE/Pro One video

This is the first poll I've created, so if it doesn't work or make sense, sorry! I'm not going to use names, you all know what I'm talking about. I do not have any vested interest for/against the outcome of the poll, the bottom line is this:

I am curious about how many peoples opinions changed after using said Instructional DVD. It is obviously the "hot button" topic, and it seems that everyone assumes what everyone's opinions were prior to viewing/using/practicing/screening DVD... so my interest is in whether or not the status quo was changed for anyone... for or against.

In other words, the vast majority of people that were for CTE remained for, those against remained against... I am curious of the (possible) small sub-sample that changed (it seems a forgone conclusion that most changes would go from against to for).

I realize that for whatever reason this post will probably get blasted, from either camp... preparing for volleys!!

The poll didn't appear. Never having done one, I'm no help as to "why".

I wish you had referred to the video as Stan Shuffett's Pro ONe CTE video or CTE/Pro One video. It would have been easier for me to vote. I'm pretty sure that's what you meant but I can't vote because of that.

If were to vote, I would say that since I learned CTE/Pro One in one on one instruction, and I didn't have the video at that time but now being able to refer to the video is a big plus (and makes "more sense".)

I added the title to avoid possible ambiguity... thanks.

I voted, Before dvd I was FOR cte, and now it makes LESS sense..

Just to be clear, I believe it works, not doubting that. I am just so confused as to how to slide my bridge into the shot accurately, which side to pivot from, which line to look at..

I've found it positive on shots with little cut angle, but for larger cut angles, I am finding frustration..

I'm not giving up, I'm just pretty lost at this point.

Thanks for the votes! I don't know whether or not it makes a difference that the poll is "open" (i.e. people see who votes what), from a strictly empirical sense it would have been better to not "name names"... but this obviously isn't very scientific. As I said this is my first poll so I didn't give it much thought... I am really just curious about people that were neutral at first, or one way and then changed views.

I have no opinion b/c I don't have the dvd (yet) and am not a good enough player to really have a quality say. Thanks again.

You can't do a an open poll. Re-do it.

I thought about it, but to be honest I think most people know where all the "big names" on here stand... it's not a big mystery. It's not really fair to those that spend those 2s to vote and I doubt that there would be many more voters anyways. It's somewhere around 20 votes and if I thought it might get 1.5X more w/ change I would do it... probably not worth it here. I just thought it would be interesting to quantify.

And, this is obviously a ruse to start the holy-war. The lines in the sand have been drawn! Sides have been chosen and there will be no mercy! Those in the middle will be the first fodder...

Obviously the guys who didn't like the DVD are going to be a lot less likely to vote for obvious reasons. The poll is completely skewed. Oh well. No biggie.

Yeah maybe. I might let this poll die out and re-do as you suggested in a couple of weeks. I think it is an interesting question (obviously, as I posted it in the first place).

I'm sorry but I am missing your point. If you buy something from Walmart are you more likely to call Walmart if you like the product or if you did not like the product? No names are shown here as to your vote. My point being that if you did not like the product you are much more likely to call Walmart. I read somewhere that Walmart gets 75 complaint calls for every 1 happy call. So you're right that it is skewed but IMO exactly the opposite to what you want us to believe.

Just think about it. How many times have you purchased a product and it was what you expected have you called the store to say thank you? On the other hand how many times have you purchased a product that was faulty and/or not up to what you expected have you called the store?

Please explain your thoughts. I'm confused.

The walmart analogy is way off IMO. Of course people aren't going to stop their lives to call walmart and let them know they liked the instructional DVD they bought there.

But when you have already signed in to a forum to share your thoughts and there is a poll right there you are more likely to express your thoughts.

My point is that many people who have gone public with their disappointment with cte like myself are labeled certain things and if they were to ask a question in a cte thread they would fear that one of the pro cte detectives would say hey you were negative in that poll so you are just here to stir up crap.

I could go on about the many different reasons someone might not want to publicly insult Stan's work whether he is a friend or just out of respect.

Some might feel like they would look like they are one of the idiots who don't get it if they answer that in the poll. After all Spidey keeps saying all the info is there and it's easy to understand.

People are generally non-confrontational and would rather stay anonymous if they are dissatisfied.

I have people complain about my employees but they always want to remain anonymous.

These are just a couple reasons I think a poll should be anonymous and that most people don't want to publicly be negative for all to see.

People don't walk into walmart and shout how the balding cream didn't work for all to hear. Lol okay now my analogy is out of line. Analogies are way over-rated on forums IMO.

Hope this helps understand my logic. I admit I could be wrong.

Just making sure. You do realize that we can all see the screen names of the people who voted right? Did you mean Birth names?

I am not sure if this thread will turn out good or not, but it is an interesting idea, especially for those that are considering the DVD.

Personally, I found the idea of CTE intruiging before the DVD. I tried it as I read it on Dr. Dave's website. From that info I could see some real potential, but there were a lot of holes, making me interested to see if a complete system existed, and if it would really work.

My initial view of the DVD left me a little confused about a few things, and my initial attempts at the system left me VERY frustrated. However, after some trial and error, and some help from some knowledgeable CTErs on the boards, the value of the system has become obvious. Now that I understand how to sight my lines correctly, the system is very simple (A far cry from the view I had a few days ago). I definately need to practice it more to sight my lines better and better, and be able to recognize each shot more easily, but I am confident now that this system has the potential to really improve my shot making.

Ahhhhhhh! Finally someone who didn't get it, becomes frustrated; sticks with it, then starts "getting it", then finally realizes that it has potential to improve their game. To me, that is a coupe de grace to those who don't see the value of CTE/Pro One.

I think it is safe and fair to say that the information that was on Dr. Dave's website concerning the old CTE helped to confuse and frustrate more people than it helped.

Now that Stan has come out with CTE/Pro One video, his NEW INFORMATION opens a new door for learning how to aim better.

Some will choose to stick with it and others will simply walk away without learning how to use it. It's each person's choice. For me, I'm glad that I stuck with it. To be honest, I didn't always believe that I would "get it".
