I'm putting in a Gold Crown over 11.5" tiles with 3/4"-1" grout lines that typically lie 1/8"-1/16" deeper than the tile surfaces. The tiles themselves are not perfectly flat either. Should I put a rug or something else under the feet of the table to both assist with keeping it level and protecting the tiles?

I'm OK with wearing sandals/shoes while playing. Removing the tile is not an option.

Suggestions appreciated.

Wow, 1" gout lines? It shouldnt be too much of a prob, I believe the gc's have adjustable legs so they can bet set to diff heights if needed. A rug may not be necessary, maybe a few carpet squares so the legs dont scratch or crack the tile.

I would go to Lowes and get two four foot red oak 1 x 8's, route the top edges with a roundover bit, stain with Minwax manor oak gel stain, and put one at each end under the table feet. If you want to be exta careful, glue some felt to the bottom of the boards.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll do one of these this weekend to prep for the install.
