Interesting 8 ball rule question

TAP Rules

Accidental movement of a ball:
#1 If the shooting player accidentally moves a ball prior to their shot, the opposing player has the option of leaving the ball where it was moved “or” returning it to its original position. If the shooting player grabs the moved ball to replace it, it is not a foul.

Just more reasons I like to insist on ‘old school/all fouls’ rules in private games. We have all become sloppy & careless since OB fouls were excused. I can’t remember the last time I shot jacked up over a frozen ball without accidentally touching it with the ferrule.

old school never had all fouls. only in tournament straight pool games with a ref present.

other wise impossible to enforce it and just leads to arguments that cant be settled.

And all the moves this state allowed. :)

So ball in hander is allowed reasonable time and leeway to pick and choose. What if a second foul occurs in this process.

The TAP rule clearly states "moving a ball", is it like other alphabet groups that if you move more than 1 ball it is a foul even on cue ball only fouls??
