At APA nationals, I always tell my teammates to have their ID at each match. No excuses. We've had it come up where someone didn't have their ID and they gave them 15 minutes to RUN back to their room to get it or forfeit. True story. In 1999, we were pretty far into the tournament and put up a 5. We were ahead 2-1 at the time. They put a 5 against our guy. He asked out guy for an ID and our guy says he lost his wallet in a bar the night before. DOH.
So needless to say, our guy forfeits and the 5 that they put up was allowed to play the next match as well. I wasn't thrilled about that, but the table manager told us it was within the rules. I should have known better and reminded all of my teammates before the match. Especially farther along in the tourney.
