Interesting question/situation

I was playing pool at my local bar last night and an interesting situation occurred. I was playing a buddy of mine (I was solids, he was stripes) and he hit his object ball towards his intended pocket but did not make the ball and also scratched. However, after I take my scratch shot his ball falls in (none of the other balls on the table hit his ball). I know since he scratched it doesnt matter anyway but it got me thinking. If it was the 8-ball that he hit towards his intended pocket and did not scratch and the same thing occurred where I took my next shot or two and then the 8-ball falls in. What happens then?

put it up where it was or spot it and keep shooting and laugh about it..:p

or if you are playing for money.. HE loses:thumbup:

This has been discussed many times and is addressed in almost all rules.

As far as I recall they all say that after a ball has been at rest(>5 secs), if it falls into a pocket of its own accord, it is replaced with no penalty or benefit to any player.

Ah thanks. I assumed that it has already been talked about. Plus it is easier to ask on here then have to look up the rules and then find the exact rule itself!
