Hello all. I hope many of you recognize me from all my posts made on the forums over the past year.
Anyhow, I'm a UIUC student who, up until today, was undecided on a major. About a month ago, I applied to the University's Advertising program, and I received word today that I was accepted.
Now that I am going a proper Advertising major, I was just wondering if anyone here has any use for a college student that is well versed in Media Theory, Sociology, Negotiations, and soon, Advertising.
My goal is to be able to become an advertiser some day to promote pool, in order to get more coverage for the sport. I love the game, and am constantly shirking responsibilities to play it. I believe that with the right advertisements, we can get more people interested in pool, and subsequently push the sport more into mainstream attention.
In order to reach my goal, there are a number of things I need to do. I already got one big thing off my checklist by getting admitted into the Advertising department of my University. However, I also need to build up work experience and a network of contacts in the pool world. With this being said, if anyone wants a college student as an intern for either advertising or marketing, I'd be very grateful if I were to be considered.
During the summer, I could probably follow you around the country if needed. What I'm looking for is the valuable work experience.
