Introducing my Gary Johnson......

I'm lucky enough to play in the same room every week with an underappreciated local cuemaker. His name is Gary Johnson of Flippin, Arkansas.

Besides being a pretty sporty shot, Gary makes a great hitting cue.

We got together on the design and I gave him some things to incorporate in there and the rest I let him take care of. His vision turned out better than I could even imagine.

Disclaimer: These pics were taken with my iPhone 4S. Also, I picked up the cue in April 2012. The pics are from around September. So, if you see a little ding or anything here and there, it's because it's my player.

Specs are:

29" butt
29" shaft

Weight unknown (as of now), but supposed to be around 19 oz.

Tiger Maple
Ebony

Ivory inlays
Black Irish linen wrap

Gary Johnson's proprietary LD shaft ;)

The tip is a Tiger Onyx.

The cue feels amazing to me. Has a pleasant "plink" with the hit. It's much easier to move the cueball around compared to my old Meucci 333-5.

I couldn't be more pleased. I'm currently trying to pin Gary down about doing me a break cue.

I'm sure there are a few things that I'm forgetting. But, I asked for something traditional in the way of a 4-pointer with some ivory and he really delivered. And it was ahead of schedule.

I like the design...I really like the way he split the woods in the sleeve...that really looks sharp!!!

I have had many positive transactions with Gary through the years, but this is the first of his cues I have had the pleasure of seeing. Thanks for sharing the pictures. The Cue looks great.

Congrats on your fine cue and thumbs up for the builder, you have some real talent sir.

I'll be shooting with Gary on Friday and I'll mention this thread to him.

He actually lurks on here, but rarely ever posts.

Thanks again for the positive comments. I honestly never felt comfortable with my old Meucci, but I feel very comfy with my GJ cue.

Very nice cue, just don't brag to your non-pool buddies that your playing with your Johnson.
