Introducing "The Beast XL" Cue Building Lathe & new Dual Live Center concept

Dave
You make a good point. The warranty I offer on the all lathe 6 months on the motors (auto feed, headstock) years
Headstock, Carriage, bed, steady tests 18 months
Can't offer warranty on the router, cause the user can easily damage the bearing with very heavy cutting by an unexperienced user.
I am searching for an affordable quiet router to replace the porter cable router. The router can be upgraded to any brand the customer chooses and I would fabricate a custom bracket for that router.
There is no extra charge for customizing the router bracket, adding a different router would only cost the user only the router cost difference.
As for the overall price it's still very comparable to the competition, while offering more.

Regards

Bassel, try out one of the Ridgid 2400 series trimmers. I was reading on a couple of the Machinist/CNC boards that they have very tight tolerances on the spindles. Not sure how quiet they are but for under $100 it might be worth a look. The outer housing is removable so you'd just need to make up clamping bracket which should be pretty simple.

Thanks Brian
I bought one of those Ridgid routers for a CBL ll I am currently working on, it also have speed control built in. Yes it is better and not as loud as the P C router. But what I really want is a quiet spindle, similar to the one Unique sells for $1699.
I am hoping to offer a similar spindle for 1/2 their price, so far no luck with that, but I am waiting on a pricing and timing from a German company that manufacture similar spindles

I'll just say that those are very good questions. You are entering the realm of Sawstop when you reach those kind of numbers for a hobbiest....

I have never used any of the dedicated machines provided by several manufacturers but I have for sure looked at them and was actually considering some of these before I bought my large lathe.

The machine posted here do in my eyes have a distinct feature - linear rails and what's look like a wider and heavier carriage.

Working with a 750Kg metal lathe with a heavy carriage and large hand wheels gives me a good feeling and the difference is hugh when I migrate to my small metal lathe with it's tiny carriage for tip work.

If this machine gives a feeling which is between these - I would have considered it for some of my work if the design is else-wise sturdy built.
As I understand this - the bed is custom made and it should last a long time if it's just the tailstock which is using it and the carriage is the largest I have seen pictures off on these type of machines.

A interesting product.
