Hey guys,

I'm new here but not new to pool. Figured I would give some info about myself in case people start wondering who I am when they see my posts.

My name is Heath and I live in Baltimore, MD. I am 26 years old and I am a Network administrator for the State of Maryland and have been married for 1 1/2 years now.

I have been shooting pool constantly for about 5 years now and off and on for a little over 12 years. I mostly play 9 ball. I shoot on 2 APA 9 ball leagues on Wednesday and Sunday and I am ranked a 6. I have an 8 ft table at home so I get to practice a lot. I am going through "99 critical shots" now and am currently on shot 33. I have participated in many online forums and currently moderate one for a different hobby of mine so you guys do not have to worry about me causing issues or flames or anything of that nature. :D

It is great meeting you all and I look forward to gaining a wealth of knowledge from this great resource.

(BTW. Dont think I am a weirdo or anything, my screen name comes from an old PC game I used to play a lot in my younger days, I just use it for all my online screen names. I really just a normal kinda guy. "D)

Welcome Heath

I am Don ( Purdman ) in VA. I am 56 and been married 25 years. I have a 9ft. Gandy Big G in the basement. I do some cue repair, pool instruction, and like to play now and then. Glad you joined us and hope to see you around.
Purdman

Welcome icon. I'm also 26 and married about 1.5 years :). I don't play nearly as much pool as you though nowadays. Look at my avatar ;).

Very understandable and congratulations!!!! My wife and I are going to try to have our first child next year some time. That makes me greatful to have a table at home, even if I cant get out to the local pool room or league night, I will still be able to hit some balls around in the basement and even call some friends over from league to help me stay on top of my game.

(Of course the above plan is in theory as I do not have kids yet and I have no idea how it will affect me playing at home either :D)

Dang...you are very lucky you have your own house AND a pool table at such a young age. I'm still 2 or 3 years away before I can afford to buy a house (darn new england home prices), and another 2 or 3 years before I can muster enough to fund a pool table. So i'm already accepting that I won't be playing pool at semi-regular basis for at least another 4 or 5 years. Hehe, by then i'll probably be on my 2nd or 3rd kid, and i'll probably push my pool playing back until retirement. Cheers!

Welcome, Heath! I love the avatar... is that Milla Jovovich?
Thanks Marissa. Yeah that is Milla!!! I have been following her ever since I first saw her in Fifth Element! Good eye!!!

Welcome Icon. :)

If you're not busy, you should come check out the Tiger Planet Pool 9 ball tourney this weekend in Arnold, MD. Nick, Ceci, & Andy run a great tournament. Also, $2500 added ain't bad for a pro/am (mostly amatuer) event. ;)

Check it out!

Very cool, I will prolly swing by with my father and check it out. I looked at the winners of the Laurel MD event and seeing Keith McCready place 13th makes me know that I am not of caliber to compete with them. But it would be cool to watch!!!

Thanks for the invite. Will you be shooting in it?

Hello Heath. Welcome.

You have to hear her sing!!! Great stuff! One she sang during a scene of Dazed & Confused made it to her album, Divine Comedy. None of that crappy kiddy-pop models/actresses usually come out with. She has serious talent!
I have a copy of the Divine Comedy, found it in a local store here. Love the CD. HAHA, you must really dig her too!!!

LOL, believe me, that's not the level of playing field in these tourneys! It must've been a fluke. Mike Davis plays in them & sometimes Shawn Putnam. There's a couple of short stops that can give either one of them a run for their money but the majority that play, I would say are right about your speed....some better, some not as good. The players are of all speeds in these tourney's. The beauty is that it's a race to 9 on the winners side & a race to 7 on the one loss side so it's quite possible to take down the "big guns".

I don't really play pool anymore so I won't be playing but I am going to go join them on Sat & stay over night to watch some on Sun. As stated earlier, the tournament directors are really nice people but so are the regulars on the tour. I really enjoy just hanging out & talking to them while watching the tournament. Quite a few of the regulars on the tour post on this board.

Even if you decide not to play but you do stop by, I'll be there sometime earlier in the afternoon on Sat. I'll more than likely be at the tournament directors table most of the time talking to the directors.... Can't miss me. I'm the fat girl with long (to my waist) brown hair. :p Please be sure to find me (ask anyone at the directors table who Timberly is, they'll know)We would love to meet you. Check out the tourney.... I think once you see the different playing levels that are in the tourney, you'll be sorry you didn't play. ;)

One of the greatest people in the industry. A very nice person! She had me at "Return to The Blue Lagoon" lol I loved her in "Zoolander", too.

You can find demos on her site, www.millaj.com. You have to find some of her bootleg stuff. It just gets better! I have a slew of files at home. If you ever need something burned, let me know!

I got the avatar from MILLAJ.com!!! haha... damn girl... good to meet another one of her fans, especially one that shares the same hobby as me :D Yeah she was cool in Zoolander.
