We can probably agree that if the IPT becomes financially viable, it won't be the IPT chalk and the Mike Sigel trick shot videos, it's gonna have to be TV revenue. So if the IPT is doing good in the ratings, that's really good news.
Now, KT said they had good ratings, but it's starting to look like KT's statements are mostly just noise. I mean, what do you think KT would say if they actually had bad ratings?
They did get some sponsors like Vonage, which is a very good sign. On the other hand, when OLN switched to Versus, they didn't mention the IPT at all:

But they made sure to hype sure-to-be-smash-hits like Whitetail Revolution, The Barbeque Championship, and the National Lacrosse League. I'm not knocking these shows, in fact I love lacrosse and I used to play, but believe me NLL is not going to be a big ratings hit. And I would be surprised if the BBQ or deer-hunting circuits have multi-milion-dollar tournaments every couple months which are funded by TV revenue.
Is there any way to find out whether the show was actually a ratings hit? I thought it was OK, but as a pool player I can't really tell what a non-pool player would think about the show. I spent a whole day watching the Reno event on a choppy 3 inch screen and loved it. Also, on the OLN broadcast, I found the commentary by KT and MS pretty nauseating, but the "average viewer" might like it.
