As of 2/19 1:31 EST there are 4 players left on the winner’s side. The only American is Scott Frost. There are 5 players on the loser’s side, none are American.

I think this is great. It can only be good for pool to have the best in the world competing under one tour.

Being an American, I don't know that I agree that it's great, but it does show that there are a lot of good players worldwide. The more countries that produce an IPT member who may turn out to be a star in that country, the better it will be for everyone involved in our game. Imagine if you're a cuemaker and you start getting orders from Uzbekatan because their #1 player uses that cue in the IPT tournements.

You guys are forgetting that many Americans are already qualified and might have been in the last group at Hard Times if they had had to try to qualify.

The competetion here is brutal.Many big names are seen here. George breed Love & Ronie wiseman were eliminated very early.Last night WU was put out of the tournament by Kiamco.

What's great is that the cream is rising to the top and we're assured that a couple of world beaters will be added to the IPT roster later today.

I don't see anything so great about the fact that just one of the last eight is American. I didn't think it was great when just one of the last eight was American in the 2005 WPC, nor did I think it was great when just one of the last eight was American in the 2004 WPC.

I'll give credit where credit is due. We know that the Asians have been phenomenal players for a long time, and that the Europeans have made great strides of late. But I'd like to see our hometown boys doing a little better against the international players, and won't delight in it when they don't.

So, today, we'll all root for Frost, and at the Joss Championship, we'll cheer for Sparky Ferrell and Keith Macready, who along with Hohmann and Immonen, begin the day on the winner's side.
