In all honesty
I think this type of plan might already be in their long range plans they have, and at the right time, they will announce it.
What I like about the IPT is that it will have a 'ripple' effect on the rest of the Pool world, to be more professional, better payouts, and a more defined level of play. I have always said that the 'Semi-Pro' level needs more definition and differentation from the other levels. Several 'working' players across the country are 'Semi-Pro' level. With better definition of skill levels, the lower rungs can act as springboards to a higher rung on the ladder.
It helps create incentive to get better, and you are competing with people that are not that far above you. I mean, I have competed in tournaments
where 20% of the players could give the Orange Crush to 30% of the entries and still beat them.
Then when you win so many tournaments at a certain level or place so many times in tournaments at a certain level, you are bumped up to the
next higher level of competition. I am talking special tournaments with at
least 32 players in them, not local weekly tournaments.
Plus the other incentive is, the higher the level, the bigger the payout.
