IPT Tournament - Will there be vendors there?

I just got to thinking since this is the 1st Offical Tournament of the tour, will there be vendors there, perhaps in the hallways at least, selling their products?

I actually asked someone about this and got told good luck selling anything that the IPT doesn't have rights on at any of their events. This was from a player member... not the actual staff, but I can see that being the truth.

I would love to know if there are booth opportunities and what they might cost at each event, but ... if they are actually going to let people have booths, or sell merchandise at their spots, I gotta think we would already know that was out there. That's too big of an idea for them to not make it known to the world.

Also note that the IPT are intent on using only high-end locations like The Venetian that do not lend themselves to low-cost multi-vendor environments, so even if they rented spots the costs would probably be prohibitive for all but a few very large companies.

However what's to stop an enterprising person from setting up an expo at a (much cheaper) Vegas convention location during the same week as an IPT event? Perhaps even hosting an amateur event at the same time like the BCA do?

I was told by a very reliable source certain vendors were offered the "opportunity" to have a booth at IPT events for $2000 each. The catch---the vendor had to commit to attending all 5 remaining events and pay the $10,000 in full in advance.

I look forward to seeing how it shakes out.

I think you'll hear more interesting stories coming out of the IPT. To date, their model offers little guidance in terms of long-term sustainability, so why should they court vendors.

I don't think this is true. I had the opportunity to get a booth for $2000 which included a full page ad in the program. With the cost of food, lodging and flight for 2 people, this would turn into $4000. I think it would be a great opportunity and would have taken them up on it had I not had other commitments to fill current orders.
